THE ART OF DINING WELL
Some journeys begin at the table.
Extraordinary kitchens. A profound sense of place. Fifty tables worth building a journey around.

A place is best understood through its table.
From a shaded garden in Crikvenica to an island vineyard on Pag, we follow the people, ingredients and landscapes that make a meal belong somewhere. Not a list of everywhere. A considered collection of places that matter.

The Founding Fifty
Rijeka · Kvarner
Nebo pairs a wide view over Kvarner with a contemporary culinary perspective in Rijeka.
Šibenik · Northern Dalmatia
Pelegrini makes Šibenik’s historic centre part of a contemporary gastronomic experience.
Dubrovnik · Southern Dalmatia
At the entrance to Dubrovnik’s old town, Nautika looks towards the sea and the fortresses of Lovrijenac and Bokar.
Our inaugural editorial selection. Inclusion does not imply a commercial partnership or restaurant endorsement.

An island. A vineyard. A singular table.
An island, interpreted. Behind a stone house above Novalja, vines and olive trees frame a restaurant deeply connected to Pag. Lamb, island cheese, Adriatic fish and wild herbs inform a contemporary tasting-menu experience. Boškinac makes an unusually complete destination: a table, a cellar and a boutique hotel in one landscape. Come for a long evening rather than a hurried stop between beaches.

Where the afternoon learns to linger.
A garden at the water’s edge. Dida brings a gentler rhythm to the Crikvenica promenade: Mediterranean greenery, sea air and a century-old house, with Krk across the water. The kitchen builds on seasonal produce, fresh fish and homemade pasta, with both à la carte and tasting-menu possibilities. This is our invitation to make lunch the centre of the day, not an interval between plans.

FIELD NOTES · 01
Boškinac or Dida? Choose the journey, not a winner.
An island estate on Pag and a garden in Crikvenica are not interchangeable versions of luxury. The useful question is which experience fits your day, your appetite and your route.

Korčula, three tables and three different moods.
LD Restaurant, Filippi and Konoba Mate should not become three rushed reservations in one day. Read them as three ways to meet the island: a gastronomic palace, a promenade terrace and a village table.

Dubrovnik: book the table, not just the view.
A wall, a rooftop, a harbour and a hotel terrace can produce very different evenings. A useful Dubrovnik shortlist starts by choosing the dining format and exact setting—not by collecting interchangeable sunset photographs.

How to choose a Croatian tasting menu.
The longest menu is not automatically the most rewarding. Start with the kitchen’s focus, the format of the room and the time you can give it. Then compare the complete experience, not only the number of courses.
